What we do

WBW takes treated water from SA Water’s Christies Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant, 10 kilometres north of the Willunga Basin and pumps it via 120 kilometres of pipeline to many growers in the McLaren Vale region.

The reclaimed water, which is used for drip irrigation of vines, fruit trees, nut crops and flowers, is cheaper than bore water and completely safe for drip irrigation.

Growers irrigate by just turning on their tap – there is no need for storage, power or pumps on farms.  The water is supplied at a pressure that suits most on-farm drip irrigation systems.  There is no water ordering system – users simply access the water supply at a mutually agreed flow rate and each outlet has a flowmeter and water usage is logged continuously.

WBW holds special information days where prospective users of the scheme can find out more. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.for more information.
